It’s January and with all the festivities over and a good few dark,cold months ahead the only thing to do is snuggle up at home and relax. I’ve been experimenting with some homemade bath salts to help me unwind, something which is definitely needed with a new baby.
Making your own bath salts is so simple, only requires two ingredients and they’re much cheaper than any of the fancy stuff you can buy in the shops. You can bulk buy epsom salts online or in any pharmacy, they’re cheap and can be used for a whole host of things around the house.
What you’ll need:
* Epsom salts
* Essential oils of your choice
* Dried lavender or rose petals (optional)
* An air tight container
All you need to do is half fill your container with epsom salts and then add 20 drops of your choice of essential oils. I love lavender as it’s extremely calming but use whatever oils you fancy and experiment with a few combinations. Give the salts and essential oils a good shake in the container so that the oil is evenly distributed. Finally fill the container up to the top and add in your dried lavender or rose petals and give it a final shake.
They’re so easy to throw together and also make a lovely homemade gift for someone. So why not treat yourself and relax!
